ironic shirts.

sometimes when you're in a thrift store searching for shirts that can fit in an 80s/grecian vibe for a show of epic proportions (XANADU)...you find gems you'd never before discover.

it starts with one of you lifting a shirt in a triumphant victory dance which includes a gaspy squeal.

followed by the other, standing at the other end of the rack, performing the same motion while holding up an equally thrilling and completely perfect match for said shirt.

it concludes by our wearing them and pretending they are ironic.

that shoe thing that happens.

we've all been there, right?

we all have our own story.

the moment of sheer horror when suddenly looking down at your feet.

you knew something didn't feel right.

things seemed off balance.

literally.

only...did your story happen on the way to the optometrist?

i'm definitely way behind on my postings this year. 

however...i thought it imperative to share this video from my current show.

also i have talented friends...but that's a given when you work at a theatre.

so i'm pretty excited about my new, cute, little studio apartment!!

behind the scenes - EMMA.

while i've been gone, i enjoyed a couple of months in austen-land. 

dressing in the regency time period, talking in a british accent, and being a giddy/gullible jane austen character...was really some of the best times i've ever had.

i had the honor of portraying "harriet smith" three nights a week for 4 weeks at the artisan.

i don't know that a character has ever been quite as fun to play as this one.

also...i got to eat SO MUCH FOOD ONSTAGE.

i'm not exaggerating.

they started calling me hungry harriet...or "hungriet."

and the costumes.

let me tell you.

i do think i enjoyed making these costumes the most.

even if that did mean building 15 regency dresses in 2 weeks!

have you ever taken an unplanned trip into hobby lobby only to ironically exit with a garden gnome in hand...?

...right, we all do it...

hair.

it is a truth universally acknowledged that no one should go TWO YEARS WITHOUT A HAIRCUT. 

and yet...guess what i did.

like who does that.

i suppose the long hair will be missed by one and all.

(though the pain will only truly be felt by me)

however, i think this new "do" tells the world:

rebecca is 20...and she's ready for whatever you've got planned.

beth march.

since we last spoke, i had the opportunity of becoming a march sister once more.

"little women, the musical" was last year's holiday show. 

this show has been on my dream list ever since i saw it performed 6 years ago.

if you remember, i did have the chance to play jo march in the play version, a few years back. 

this time around was a WHOLE new experience.

not only was there new music and dancing...but i played beth march.

the sweetest and best part i've ever had.

the 4 march sisters connected with such a close bond.

it was such an honor to work with each of them.

and grow to love them so very much.
