senior shoot.

the long awaited senior shoot i promised to share oh-so long ago!

all these photos were taken on a hilarious day by the ever so talented Blake Hannah...and we were joined with the really super dee duper awesome Madison Hoover. 

maddy and i were in the parking lot of lowe's waiting on blake to pick a few things up for the shoot. 

we may or may not have been listening to disney music.

or singing "a whole new world" at the tippity top of our lungs.

with the windows rolled down. 

(we do this a lot.)

we see blake come out of the store and walk to our car and ask "did you guys see the robbery that just happened?!"

us: ".......no......"

so apparently there was this actual robbery that happened in lowe's...the robbers ran out the front door (right in front of us)...and we missed it all.

awesome.

we picked up a few props for the shoot and headed to our first location: a wheat field.

coolest. thing. ever.

we hopped a fence.

threw a red chair over.

i sat in the wheat.

and epic pictures soon ensued.

second location: mysterious pine forest in the middle of texas by the lake.

a forever long hike from the road to the forest...but so totally worth it.

i literally felt like we had stepped into a completely different state.

or a magical world.

like narnia.

squeep!

while driving home that night...a tragedy occurred.

winding through the small country road...in the dark...maddy and i had a traumatic experience involving...

an armadillo.

this is a bit how it went:

us: *laughter* "what a fun day" "today was awesome" *more laughter*

when suddenly...a wild armadillo appears.

us: AAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!! *screams and squeals*

me: *slight swerve at an attempt of avoiding it*

car: *ever so slight bump*

us: "what. just. happened." 

*hilarious laughter soon follows and doesn't conclude until long after we've arrived at home*

i'm pretty sure i maimed that poor armadillo. 

the bump wasn't big enough to have killed him...but i ran over something. 

like his tail. 

or...a limb.

most terrifying (and slightly hilarious) driving experience OF. MY. LIFE.

but all in all...it was a happy, happy day.

seeing double!

on tuesday night, the JOY drama group's cast of "the importance of being earnest" (from last year's fundraiser for joplin, MO) had the pleasure of going to see the artisan center theater's production of the same show. 

sitting in the audience we all mouthed the words. 

laughed at the proper places.

longed to join the actors onstage.

and had a goofy grin during the whole show.

what made things even more enjoyable was that OUR "jack worthing" was playing the artisan's "algernon moncrieff."

it was so weird to see him playing a different part.

but we all agreed he did quite smashing.

after the show...we got to meet the artisan cast (who are all amazing and hilarious) and take pictures with them.

i got a picture with a lovely young lady who played cecily (the same part i played).

it was really weird...but so cool.

after all of this...we made a trip to mcdonald's for some ice cream and fun times.

we were literally laughing so hard, tears were streaming down our faces.

and we all knew how much we missed everyone.

how we got to spend an entire summer with each other.

how we grew so close together.

and we remembered how we had truly become a family last summer.

and that those memories we have will be some of the most special memories...ever.

things may change.

we may go our separate ways.

but i don't think my friendship with these people will ever end.

opening weekend of godspell was an absolute smash!

a show set in the 70's is sure to have an exorbitant amount of color.

i LOVE it.

tech week: godspell edition.

godspell is one of the most energetic, physically exhausting shows i've ever been a part of.

dancing. kneeling. standing. sitting. singing. jiving. 

everyone is on stage the entire show...so there's never a down moment.

but honestly, how fun is that?!

this show has also been a different experience because of the actors involved. 

quite a few of our past JOY drama students have graduated and i'm the second oldest actor in the show.

i definitely miss those that have moved on...but it has been fun getting to be involved with the new, younger students in this show.

we open tonight.

my last opening of a show as a high-schooler.

so weird.

an ideal day.

a couple of weeks ago i had an absolutely lovely day consisting of being "rue-ed," going antiquing, and getting my senior photos done in an awesome wheat field and pine forest. 

just going to say...it was a pretty awesome day.

i found two beautiful vintage 50's dresses. 

got some INCREDIBLE senior pics (i'll share soon).

and laughed/smiled so much that day...my face was literally sore.

i SO love days like these.
