The other day I got to go someplace VERY exciting. I'm preparing a post with pictures and goodies...but in the meantime: see if you can guess where I went (or at least what was at the place that I went to) from these two pictures...

A Little Bit of Inspiration...
I LOVE to be inspired, don't you? Finding pictures and tutorials and thinking..."Hey, I could make that!" just makes my heart happy! So, I thought I might share a few things I've acquired that inspire me...
How about this GORGEOUS blouse?! I absolutely love the color and the cute rosettes! If I were to change it up, I probably wouldn't do the "wing" sleeves...possibly puffs? or caps?
Okay, so I am absolutely IN LOVE with this idea! And it looks fairly easy...What a neat gift idea, too!
I really, really love both of these scarves! The first one is so simple, with the cute little rosette pattern at the bottom. And the second one is beautiful...but hey, who isn't in love with ruffles?! :)
This is such a cute idea too! I'm always looking for little girl projects since I have a little sister and this one is no exception! I MUST make this!
I don't usually make "home-y" things, but I would LOVE to make this! Again with the ruffles...*sigh*!
Well, I hope some of these have inspired YOU as well to do some sewing! I sometimes get discouraged and don't have a desire to sew, but whenever I look at pictures, etc I ALWAYS want to start sewing that second! :) Well...off to sew!

Huzzah!
Also...I got back from a Civil War reenactment Sunday! Such fun! I can't wait to share pictures! However, I should share pictures from Beaumont Ranch last month first probably...ARG! I feel so behind! :( But anyways, it was amazing, and that's where I was this weekend.
So, I'm curious...what sort of thing are you interested in seeing on my blog?? Because I feel kind of like I'm trying to stretch my blog into all sorts of different directions...so I created a blog for you to tell me what you think, since you're the one reading... Anyways, do check that out and let me know what you think! :)

Dance, dance, dance!
So...the Cotillion was AMAZING! I was absolutely, completely satisfied with my dress...I thought it was beautiful!! :)
And as a little extra touch I added some blue ribbon bows to my flats (really last minute, so they're a bit droopy)!
I curled my hair and then made a little french-twist on the side of my hair and added a little bow... ;)
I had a really nice table with some good friends of mine which was really nice (since you never know WHO you might sit by with assigned seating)! We had some really awesome speakers, too! :)
The dancing was super fun, too... ;) We learned the fox trot, swing, and box waltz (in addition to the random modern dancing that I'm a failure at)...
And I just had such a good time hanging with all my buddies...! :)

Life...
Dear followers,
So sorry I've been such a stranger! What a hectic week! Thank you SO MUCH to all of you who have voted for my pictures in the Secondhand Fashion Week finalists poll!! I can't wait to see who wins...I thought all of the entries were just incredible...I can't imagine having to choose finalists from so many participants!
Tonight is the homeschool cotillion that I'm attending! I am so VERY excited, and I cannot WAIT to share pictures from the night! Unfortunately it isn't a period dance...but it SHOULD prove to be a fun evening!
I went thrift shopping the other day and I found some super cute skirts and jumpers that I am very excited about! I may have gotten them too late to have for secondhand fashion week, but I got them JUST in time for spring! I love spring...
You probably think I haven't been sewing at all, but I promise I am!!! I just keep starting so many projects...I need to actually finish some, so that I can share pictures! SOON, I promise!!! :)
Until later,
Rebecca

Paint, Paint, and more Paint!!!
Haha, so many of you guessed what this post would be about...PAINT! Last weekend the family headed to the Shannon's house so Atlanta and Mrs. Shannon could help us paint the set for Fiddler.
I said help, but they did just about EVERYTHING! Mom, Dad and I did what little we could. And when I say little...I mean little!
If you don't know much about Fiddler on the Roof, I'll let you know what we needed (sorry about the shadow on some of the pics, it's a shadow, not painted lines)... Basically we needed the inside of the house,
the outside of the house,
the inside of a tailor shop,
the inside of a tavern/inn,
and the background of a town.
We spent all day Friday and a little of Saturday painting and we got it all done! You don't know HOW blessed and relieved we are feeling about getting the set done! And it looks beautiful!
Thanks Atlanta and Mrs. Shannon!!!

SFW - Of florals and solids
Happy Easter!!! Today is, sadly, the last week of Amanda Beth's "Secondhand Fashion Week." I've had such fun seeing everyone's posts, and coming up with all of my fashionable secondhand attire. This event has really encouraged me! I've realized how easy it is to be not only fashionable, but inexpensive as well (which is definitely not only good for me, but for my wallet)! And I feel very inspired to go out and create even more cute, inexpensive, outfits.
Anywho, today's outfit it a very spring-y look! My top is a secondhand item that was given to me...aren't those big bags of clothes so fun?! I love the anticipation of going through them and wondering what treasure you might find!
I hope you have an amazing rest of the day. Regular posting should begin tomorrow, so stay tuned! :)
